U.S. Chamber of Commerce Presents Spirit of Enterprise Award to Congressman Simpson

Idaho Falls, ID – Today the U.S. Chamber of Commerce presented the Spirit of Enterprise award to Congressman Mike Simpson in recognition of his pro-business, pro-jobs record. U.S. Chamber of Commerce board member Frank VanderSloot presented the award to Simpson in Idaho Falls.

“The Idaho business community is stronger as a result of Mike’s leadership on issues that support job creation and promote growth,” said Frank VanderSloot, CEO of the Idaho-based health products company Melaleuca. “Idaho is a leading example of common-sense policies that work to remove government barriers and allow free enterprise to lead. We recognize Mike for his unwavering support for economic growth and opportunity in Idaho and across the country.”

“I’m honored to be recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a champion of business and to receive the prestigious Spirit of Enterprise award,” said Congressman Mike Simpson. “I’ll continue working closely with the Chamber to fight for small businesses and for strong economic policies that help businesses grow and create jobs.”

The Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to members of Congress based on their votes on critical business legislation. Simpson received an 85% rating with the Chamber in 2013 and has a cumulative rating of 92% for his time in Congress.
